Pakistan Outreach
John Montgomery became involved with the Pakistan Outreach ministry through the Gathering Friday Morning Bible Study (FMBS) that he leads. In April 2022, Charlie Foster, a member of FMBS called John and asked if he would be interested in preaching to a gathering in Pakistan via Zoom.
Pakistan is an Islamic country. It is legal to proselytize in Pakistan as long as it is done outdoors. However, for security purposes no names of any Pakistani will be used.
This ministry was started by a young couple in Pakistan who recruited some Pakistani pastors who minister in outlying small villages. The Team (the young couple and the village pastors) will go to a small village and begin to visit with the people there, inviting them to an outreach to hear about God.
On the evening of the Outreach, the crowd will gather for some music and fellowship. Then the Zoom meeting is started and John brings a simple Bible based, salvation message which is interpreted by one of the Team members on location in Pakistan.
At the conclusion of the message, an invitation to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior is given. Following the invitation, John leads the people who have indicated an interest in salvation in a prayer.
Following the prayer of salvation, John then prays another prayer for anyone who needs healing.
That concludes the Zoom portion of the meeting.
The Team then gets the contact information for anyone who made and decision to accept Christ and prayed with John. Using the contact information they gathered, the Team then personally follows up with each person to insure they fully understand what salvation through Jesus Christ really is.
The Team then arranges with a local pastor for those new converts to be baptized. These new converts are typically extremely poor. So, the Team then distributes Bibles in Urdu, the national language of Pakistan. These Bibles are ordered and then printed in Pakistan.
These Bibles are purchased through donations from friends in Texas.
